Wipe that sweat off your forehead, Cincinnati Bengals fans.

Quarterback Joe Burrow did not practice Tuesday at OTAs with media members present to watch practice. This led to suspicion if Burrow potentially suffered a setback with his wrist injury.

Nope. Burrow just had the day off, and head coach Zac Taylor explained it was poorly timed with media present.

Rest days are set to be the new norm for Burrow this year. He had a day off last week during the first week of OTAs as well.

Earlier in the offseason, Burrow explained that listening to his body is an area of growth he's taken since recovering from his latest injury. That will involve resisting the urge to push through pain.

"I need to, first off, try to be out there for training camp, get as many reps as i can with the guys," Burrow said in May. "I'm gonna be smart about it. You know, if I need a break, I need a break. The wrist maybe is gonna hurt sometimes. And I'm gonna be honest with myself about how my body's feeling, maybe a little more cautious than I have been in years past. So that's kind of been something that's been on my mind for the last couple months. And I'm getting better at that."

Cincinnati isn't required to announce publicly when Burrow's rest days are, so if they pop up unexpectedly, there's a great chance it's all been planned.

Taylor's presser was scheduled late due to the mixup of having Burrow's off day with media onsite.

"I didn't time this up great," Taylor said. "I kinda thought you guys were here yesterday, so he threw yesterday, so today's his day off"

Burrow has been throwing for the past two months, but will continue to manage his wrist with precaution as training camp and the season approaches. This is all part of the process.
