The Cincinnati Bengals and the NFL world were shocked when Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field Monday night, needing CPR to be revived. Bengals wide receiver, Tee Higgins, was the player Hamlin tackled on that play, and he's felt remorse ever since.
Remarkably for Hamlin, and much to the delight of football fans worldwide, he has regained conscientious, moving his hands and feet, as well as holding the hands of his family members.
It was amazing news to hear. However, there might not be anyone more relieved outside of Hamlin's close family and friends than Higgins, and when he heard the latest prognosis, he couldn't help but be overjoyed.
Hamlin ended up going into cardiac arrest and has been in critical condition for several days. Of course, for Higgins, who no doubt felt responsible, the minutes and hours had to be draining mentally. However, after Hamlin regained some function, his mother made sure to let Higgins know that he was okay and that she was praying for him, which touched the Bengals' playmaker.
"I really appreciate them," Higgins said. "Just hearing from them and them having my back as well."
This tragic situation seems to be heading toward a beautiful ending.
