The Cincinnati Bengals have one of the best wide receivers in the NFL in Ja'Marr Chase, and he's not shy about voicing his opinion.
When he was asked who he thought was the best player in the league, he made it clear that he felt it was his quarterback, Joe Burrow. Earlier this week, Chase doubled down on his opinion, and when he heard that Burrow said it was Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, he responded to that with this.
"Pat Who?" said Chase.
Well, it certainly didn't fall on deaf ears.
The Chiefs were presented with their Super Bowl rings for the 2022 season on Thursday. After they all took a look at the extravagant bling, a picture of Mahomes was taken with him wearing both of his championship rings and he posted it with a spicy caption.
Tell him how you feel, Pat.
Before last season's AFC Championship Game, Burrow racked up three consecutive wins head-to-head against Mahomes, including the conference title game in Kansas City in the 2021 playoffs so it's understandable why Chase feels the way he does. However, Mahomes got his revenge in last year's AFC title showdown, and the fact that he finished the job with a championship made it even sweeter and validates his recent tweet as well.
When it comes to the AFC, the Chiefs, and the Bengals have been the class of the conference the last two seasons. Also, anytime the question about who the best quarterback in the NFL comes up, the first two names are usually Mahomes and Burrow, and since both guys are under the age of 28, this rivalry between their organizations is just getting started.
Mahomes recently gave the Bengals some motivation to finally get over the hump and win their first title, albeit indirectly. Now, with this clap back at Chase by Mahomes, the Bengals just got more gasoline put on the fire.
