If you are a Cleveland Browns fan, you have seen more than your fair share of losing during your lifetime.
Even after a 2020 playoff berth, the Browns declined for two seasons and lost more games than they won. Week 2 presents Cleveland with an opportunity to make team history.
The Browns have not been 2-0 since the 1983 season and they would reach that milestone with a win on Monday Night Football over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Since the Browns returned to Cleveland, they have never started the season with more than one straight win. This would be history for the team from that perspective.
There is no better team to do it against for the Browns, than the Steelers. When Cleveland shockingly beat the Steelers in the Wild Card in the 2020 season, it was celebrated so heavily due to the fact it was against Pittsburgh. A team that has beaten the Browns down for the past couple of decades.
Cleveland started the season on the right foot with a convincing win over the Cincinnati Bengals, while the Steelers fell to the San Francisco 49ers in a blowout. Pittsburgh has a couple of key players out for at least a few weeks, which unfortunately for them works in the Browns’ favor.
In the 1983 season, the Browns finished with a record of 9-7. Cleveland has goals of winning more than nine games in 2023 because that isn’t a sure number to reach the playoffs. The AFC is very good, even if Week 1 did not show that.
Going into Pittsburgh and winning is never an easy task to complete. But if the Browns want to do something they haven’t done in 30 years, they’ll go out and grab the win.
