Pro Bowl teams have been released and the Cleveland Browns are represented on the AFC side of things.
Cleveland had five players make the Pro Bowl on the initial roster. The rosters were announced on NFL Network at 8 p.m.
Defensive end Myles Garrett, left guard Joel Bitonio, and receiver Amari Cooper were voted starters, while cornerback Denzel Ward and tight end David Njoku are backups.
Cleveland has six alternates that could end up making the Pro Bowl. Those are linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, safety Grant Delpit, kicker Dustin Hopkins, punter Corey Bojorquez, RG Wyatt Teller, and center Ethan Pocic.
Garrett is heading to his fifth Pro Bowl after another great season. The star pass rusher has 14 sacks in 15 games and tied his career high with four forced fumbles.
Make it six consecutive Pro Bowls for Bitonio who has hit a streak that is still going in the second half of his career. Bitonio is still playing at a high level as he always does. We are talking about a player that will be in Canton one day.
Cooper is a Pro Bowl player for the first time since 2019 and it is his fifth nomination overall. Just a couple of games ago, Cooper had 265 receiving yards to break the franchise record. The veteran wideout has 1,250 yards and five touchdowns this season.
Ward has played in 13 games this season and has been a bit banged up at times. Still, Ward has been a lockdown corner and is deserving of his third Pro Bowl honor. The veteran cornerback has two interceptions, one forced fumble, and a career-high 54 tackles.
Njoku was named to his first Pro Bowl and has a career-high 882 receiving yards that the league has taken notice of. Put that with six touchdowns and it’s been a great season for the breakout tight end.
