Cleveland Browns are going to approach Week 18 using their brain.

Since the playoffs are locked up for Cleveland, they’ll look to rest some players against the Bengals on Sunday. Kevin Stefanski said on Wednesday that the team has earned the opportunity to do that.

Recently signed QB Jeff Driskel will start against his old team and P.J. Walker will serve as his backup. This likely means that Flacco won’t see the field for rest.

On Wednesday, the following players did not practice. I would expect to see many of them in street clothes on Sunday.

LG Joel Bitonio – oblique, knee

WR Amari Cooper – heel

CB Mike Ford – calf

K Dustin Hopkins – left hamstring

RB Kareem Hunt – groin

CB Greg Newsome – knee

TE David Njoku – illness

LB Anthony Walker Jr. – knee

Stefanski said that the team is going to use Sunday as an opportunity to play depth and some of the young players.

Cleveland could have players like Walker, and Hopkins back for the playoffs. You don’t see Elijah Moore’s name on the pre-practice injury report and that’s good news. He is still in the protocol but will be able to practice this week.

The Browns will have DE Ogbo Okoronkwo practicing on Wednesday and he will try to finish the season with his pectoral injury.

A full injury report will be available this evening.
