Myles Garrett made his presence known to start the season against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The All-Pro had six pressures, two quarterback hits, and a sack on Joe Burrow as the Browns won 24-3. Garrett had some fun doing it too, even showcasing his basketball dribbling skills on a player where he had pressure on Burrow.

Garrett has been known for enjoying pickup basketball when he’s not on the football field, he even participated in an NBA Celebrity All-Star game a couple of years ago. Even at his size, Garrett can windmill dunk, he has a rare breed of athleticism.

As Garrett dribbled the fake ball between his legs up to the center, he essentially was telling him what he was going to do. As soon as it was snapped, Garrett faked one way and went the over, as if it was a crossover. It was just the star pass rusher simply saying, “I’m better than you”.

“You know, it’s funny when Jim (Schwartz) made that call, my eyes went right to Myles, knowing where he was going to be rushing, so I saw it right away,” Stefanski said on Thursday. “And listen, whatever it takes, he can go around the back next time if he wants.”

There it is, Stefanski gave Garrett his next idea on how to integrate basketball into the gridiron.

Whether Garrett wants to get that creative will have to play out, but what we did see in Week 1 was Garrett lining up all over the place. With Schwartz opting to move his star pass rusher around, it’s going to be an issue for opposing offenses just like it was for the Bengals.

Garrett didn’t get the sack after hitting Ted Karras with the crossover, but he forced Burrow to step up in the pocket and Browns defensive end Ogbonnia Okoronkwo recorded his first sack in Cleveland.

Playing against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football, it’ll be interesting to see if Garrett has anything up his sleeve.
