Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett is your 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, which was revealed at NFL Honors. It was another stellar season from the league’s best pass rusher resulting in him picking up this accolade for the first time.
Garrett won the award over Dallas Cowboys DE Micah Parsons, CB Daron Bland, Pittsburgh Steelers DE T.J. Watt, and Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby.
In the 2023 season, Garrett totaled 14 sacks and brought his total to 46 over the last three seasons. Garrett posted four forced fumbles, 42 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, a safety, a blocked field goal, and a fumble recovery.
Early in the season, Garrett terrified the Tennessee Titans with 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble. Just a few weeks later, the Defensive Player of the Year had two sacks against the Indianapolis Colts to go along with two forced fumbles.
There is not a player that is tougher to game plan for more than Garrett, and that is on record by many coaches and players around the league. Pro Football Focus gave Garrett the highest pass-rushing grade in the NFL in 2023 at 94.7.
Once again he is a Pro Bowler and All-Pro, but now the former No. 1 overall pick can add Defensive Player of the Year to his resume.
Report has it looking like the Browns could be playing outside of Cleveland once again down the road
It’s going to be a process.
