With the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine over the draft is going to be here before we know it.
Of course, we have free agency to get through but teams are shaping up their draft boards in preparation for April.
Continuing in a series today, I will be looking at the most ideal selection for the Browns to choose in the third round. The Browns are going to have a chance to bring a Northeast Ohio native back to the area.
Browns need to take DT Michael Hall in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft
Pros: Mike Hall did not test at the NFL Combine but we should see more of him at the Ohio State Pro Day. It is just Dalvin Tomlinson and Siaki Ika locked into the roster right now at defensive tackle, so the Browns have to add more. This is where Hall comes into play, a bit undersized but he is a mean pass rusher in the middle of the trenches. He is athletic for the position and a player that Jim Schwartz could utilize.
Cons: Hall has had some nagging injury concerns at Ohio State and he would wear down late in games, even becoming nonexistent on some plays. I believe those are things that can be ironed out in the NFL.
Final word
I wouldn’t be surprised if Hall is taken in the top 60 picks. If that’s the case, the Browns will be looking elsewhere. But if he is there, the Browns should bring him back up to Northeast Ohio.
