Late in the NFL Draft, it becomes much tougher to find contributors for your football team.

Cleveland Browns have been able to do some of that in recent years and 2024 will present another great opportunity to do just that.

In the sixth round, the Browns are going to have two selections. Neither will be their original pick, as they own one from the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans each.

Below I’m going to dig in on the two Browns’ selections in the sixth round and the ideal pick. Before that, be sure to check out the previous rounds' selections below.

Round 2 selection

Round 3 selection

Round 5 selections

Browns need to take EDGE Jaylen Harrell in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft

Pros: Harrell put it all together as a senior at Michigan and recorded seven sacks. The previous year, Harrell had the first four sacks of his career. A good athlete with a quick burst and he uses it to win his pass rush sets. A pretty good run defender and that’ll help his case to get on the field in the NFL.

Cons: Harrell is not a well-refined pass rusher and doesn’t have many moves past using his speed off the edge. As a pro, the Michigan product is going to have to put together another go-to move to become a sack guy in the NFL.

Browns need to take LB Jaylan Ford in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft

Pros: Sione Takitaki and Anthony Walker Jr. are both scheduled to be free agents. Adding Ford here would be ideal to bring in another box linebacker. Ford is a physical tackler who can chase down running backs.

Cons: Ford had six interceptions in college but can be an issue in coverage at times. There was a lot of hype around Ford going into 2023 and it died down a bit. On tape, he is a bit stiff when changing direction and that’s one of his main downfalls in coverage.

Final word

Finding players that stick in the later rounds is tough. But I’m pretty confident in both of these players sticking in the NFL and perhaps that is the Browns. Cleveland has seven picks in the draft all after the first round, so taking advantage of each one will be crucial.
