Cleveland Browns are addressing one of the issues they faced last year with their latest free agency move.
The Browns are signing OL Hakeem Adeniji to a one-year deal and he will give Cleveland versatility along the offensive line. Adeniji has spent time at guard and tackle in his four-year career.
Last season, the Browns for down to their fourth and fifth offensive tackles late in the season. Jack Conklin, Jedrick Wills Jr., and Dawand Jones were all lost late in the season. Adding offensive line depth was a no-brainer and it’s the second overall piece added to the unit since free agency began. Michael Dunn was re-signed to the team earlier on Tuesday.
Adeniji spent the first three seasons of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals where he was able to start at right guard in the Super Bowl played against the Los Angeles Rams. Cincinnati selected him in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Last season, the 26-year-old was with the Minnesota Vikings and played in four games. Adeniji stands out in his pass blocking where he is an athletic big guy at 6-foot-4, 315 pounds.
Day 2 of free agency is in full swing and the Browns have already made multiple moves. You can keep up to date with all of those here.
