It’s a ‘Victory Monday’ for the Cleveland Browns following a 39-38 nail-biter over the Indianapolis Colts.
In a game that you score 39 points in, you had better win in the NFL. That was the case but it didn’t come without a wild ending.
Kareem Hunt punched it in on fourth down to push the Browns ahead with less than 30 seconds remaining.
Following the win, there is no better time than to point out the players who really got it done. Cleveland’s defense has an uncharacteristic day, but one member stepped up just enough.
DE Myles Garrett
It was an All-Pro kind of game for Garrett in Week 7. In the first half alone, Garrett had two strip sacks that Cleveland recovered. The second one was fell on in the end zone by Tony Fields II. Additionally, Garrett was stout in the run game. Cleveland’s defense finally had a down game, but Garrett was the one thing keeping them afloat. On special teams, Garrett blocked a field goal. The star pass rusher is playing like the Defensive Player of the Year.
K Dustin Hopkins
Hopkins has turned into a weapon for this team over the last couple of weeks. Cleveland’s kicker made all of his kicks, two were from over 50 yards with a long of 58. The Browns don’t win this game without Hopkins.
CB Denzel Ward
Ward has played well this year with an elite defense. Against the Colts, Ward grabbed his first interception of the season. Add in four tackles, it was a good day of work for Cleveland’s top cornerback.
TE David Njoku
Week 7 was Njoku’s best of the season so far. After the catch, the veteran pass catcher continues to be a weapon. Cleveland likes to draw up screens and allow Njoku to work. Five catches for 54 yards is a strong showing.
WR Elijah Moore
Moore had his best game as a member of the Cleveland Browns against the Colts. Cleveland’s No. 2 wideout had a 30-yard reception at a crucial part of the game late and finished with four catches and 54 yards. If this is the game that unlocks Moore and makes him a consistent weapon, Cleveland will take it.
