If there was one position group that cost the Alabama Crimson Tide wins in 2025, it was the offensive line. Look no further than what the Crimson Tide did in the transfer portal as evidence that the trenches have been turned over and rebuilt.

However, if you surveyed the landscape, many fans seemed happy with the overhaul of names along the offensive line, but worried about the man guiding those names. Well, that just ended.

Alabama parts with offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic

As first reported by Alex Scarborough of Bama247, Alabama has parted ways with offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic. The move comes after Alabama struggled to run the ball all year-long, finishing second-to-last in rushing yards per game in the SEC in 2025. They also allowed a conference-high in terms of pressures, despite having multiple NFL Draft picks in their starting five with Kadyn Proctor and Parker Brailsford.

The move comes with most of Alabama’s transfer portal additions in the rearview, including big ones like Kaden Strayhorn and Ty Haywood. So who will lead them next? Well, there’s an early favorite.

Alabama is targeting Adrian Klemm as next offensive line coach

Klemm has a proven track record of success at both the NFL and collegiate levels. As the offensive line coach for the Oregon Ducks in 2022, Klemm coached the Ducks to the least amount of sacks allowed in the nation. Prior to that, he was the offensive line coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he led them to the fewest sacks allowed in the NFL.

The question everyone is asking, however: Will the offensive line be better at run blocking? That much remains to be seen. With so many new faces and new voices in the room, spring ball and fall camp will be pivotal for Alabama’s offense ahead of the 2026 season.
