The Alabama Crimson Tide is singularly focused heading into Saturday night. The Iron Bowl is always the biggest game of the year in the state, but when one team has its hopes and aspirations on the line, it means that much more.

And for Alabama, this game is huge. A win solidifies the team a spot in the SEC Championship and helps boost the odds of making the College Football Playoff. But with it being rivalry week, we could be in store for a major upset or two. Turns out, that’s exactly what Alabama is rooting for in a pair of SEC games.

Alabama Crimson Tide Week 14 Rooting Guide

Mississippi State vs. Ole Miss

With everything going on in Oxford surrounding Lane Kiffin, the players and coaches of the Ole Miss Rebels can say they aren’t distracted all they want, but until the game is over and Ole Miss leaves as victors, it’s wait and see mode.

And that will continue after the game as the program waits on an answer from Kiffin, but it sure would be a lot easier to say goodbye if the Bulldogs could pull off the upset in the Egg Bowl and help propel Alabama in the CFP rankings.

Georgia Tech vs. Georgia

Win or lose, the Georgia Bulldogs will need help to make it to the SEC Championship. But losing to a Georgia Tech team that is looking for revenge after an embarrassing loss against the Pitt Panthers would surely help the Tide.

Not only would Alabama have the same record as the Bulldogs, but it would have the head-to-head advantage and a trip to Atlanta under its belt should the Crimson Tide win the Iron Bowl. Meaning, even with a third loss in the SEC Championship, it would be hard to argue Georgia over Alabama, even if the Bulldogs ended the season with less losses.
