Despite the endless rumors of being interested in multiple head coach openings around the country, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer is staying to coach the Crimson Tide in 2026. It’ll be another important offseason for Alabama as they’ll look to follow up a top recruiting class with more key additions in the transfer portal.
The portal was huge for Alabama this season with the additions of players like Germie Bernard, Parker Brailsford, and many others who are making an impact.
The transfer portal officially opens on Jan. 2, but players can enter and commit if their schools have gone through coaching changes, which we’ve seen plenty of. There’s no telling who Alabama will add or lose this offseason, but this tracker will be the one-stop shop for every transfer portal addition, loss, and 2026 NFL Draft declaration.

Alabama players entering the transfer portal
The following players will be entering the transfer portal on Jan. 2:
- RB – Richard Young
- WR – Bubba Hampton
- S – Kameron Howard
- OL – Roq Montgomery
Richard Young was the No. 1 RB in the 2023 recruiting class, but his departure shouldn’t be a surpruse after falling down the depth chart. Neither Hampton nor Howard was a surprise entry into the portal, even if the announcements came before the Rose Bowl. Safety and wide receiver happen to be two spots that Alabama will be looking to target in the portal as well.
The Montgomery loss shouldn’t come as a major surprise, but with Kaydn Proctor and Parker Brailsford likely leaving for the league, don’t be surprised if Alabama adds some veteran talent up front.

Ford is a massive tight end at over 6-6 and close to 270 pounds. He isn’t exactly a replacement for Josh Cuevas, but he will serve as a plus-one in the run game and be an asset to an offense that needs it.
