While it's certainly a controversial topic around college football, the real answer as to what school should be titled WR U has always belonged to the Alabama Crimson Tide

And while it's still early, it seems that the tradition is only going to continue with true freshman and 17-year-old Ryan Williams.

Georgia Bulldogs HC Kirby Smart knows as much, going as far as comparing him to some of the greats that walked UA's campus before Williams:

Ryan Williams the next big Tide WR

"Yeah, he's in the same line with the guys they've had in the past," Smart said when asked if Williams mirrored some former Alabama WRs. "Super quick, talented, confident with the ball, great ball skills, great quickness. He's a track athlete that was elite as a junior, and then he comes out and he's already performing at a high level. I don't think that there's a lot of anxiety or nerves for him. He's not one of these guys that the moment's too big for him. He naturally jumped right in and has made plays in every game. They have a lot of really good skill players out of the perimeter, and I think that Jalen does a good job of using his skillset to get them the ball."

That's high praise when you think of names like Julio Jones, Amari Cooper, DeVonta Smith, and Jaylen Waddle to name a few of the past greats who donned the Crimson and White at the Capstone.

And Kirby should know given his ties to the university and history with Nick Saban, meaning you can expect him to plan accordingly for Williams.

Lucikly for Alabama fans, OC Nick Sheridan is deep in study when it comes to getting Williams open for explosives:

“Well the explosive play cutup is not long, so that didn’t take a very long time to watch, said Sheridan when asked about Georgia's defense not allowing big plays. "I think what you’re looking at is structure. You’re looking at personnel, and you’re trying to match things that you do to the challenges that they present. I think that’s what you’re doing each and every week. Certainly, they’ve done a great job of that to this point, and it’ll be important for us to execute at a high point on Saturday.”

That execution starts with getting Williams the ball, something everyone will be watching.
