Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer is trying to not only keep the state of Alabama his personal recruiting ground over efforts from Auburn, but he's also revamping his roster on the fly. Nick Saban's departure didn't leave the cupboard completely bare in Tuscaloosa, but there's a reason why DeBoer continues to chase after high-end playmaking.
Alabama's A Game weekend served as a huge recruiting moment for Alabama's 2026 recruiting class. DeBoer was able to host several key targets, and they're already trending toward locking in their No. 1 option.
The nation's second-ranked running back, Ezavier Crowell, earned a crystal ball projection to commit to the Tide after his latest visit. He's considering Auburn, Florida State, Texas, and Georgia.
However, On3's Steve Wiltfong said Alabama is "setting the pace" in his recruitment.
The 5-foot-11, 200-pound playmaker from Jackson, Alabama, is the 24th-ranked player in the On3 class. He's been on Alabama's campus nine times, compared to five trips to Auburn and two to Texas.
Alabama is also chasing Noah Roberts, who is the sixth running back in the 2027 class.
It's clear DeBoer and his new offensive coordinator, Ryan Grubb, are chasing after big-time ball carriers to shape this offense around.
We'll continue to track the latest Alabama recruiting news throughout the summer.
