The day after the Rose Bowl was always going to be a busy one for the Alabama Crimson Tide. The question was, would it be a ton of departures after a loss, or a ton of additions after a win? Well, time will tell, but after a bad loss on Thursday, the transfer portal has opened, and the floodgates have as well.

Alabama is not immune to these departures, with one running back making his decision to leave just hours after the portal opened.

Alabama RB Richard Young enters transfer portal

The redshirt sophomore from Lehigh Acres, Florida, had just 23 carries for 64 yards and two touchdowns this season. He was behind Jam Miller, Daniel Hill, AK Dear, and Kevin Riley in the rotation. That, coupled with Alabama’s inability to run the football this season, and you could see the writing on the wall here.

Young was a four-star recruit out of high school and joined the Crimson Tide as part of one of the final recruiting classes from Nick Saban. He could never catch fire with the Crimson Tide, and now he looks for a fresh start.

Alabama should be addressing the position in the portal in its own right. To keep up with all of the additions, departures, and draft declarations, keep it locked on A to Z Sports Alabama.
