The Alabama Crimson Tide is in the middle of mat drills and winter workouts. These are the days that build the catalyst for a team come the fall. There isn’t a lot to do or talk about other than just stack days, put the work in via conditioning and weight lifting, and reap the benefits down the road.

But soon enough, spring ball will be here. Of course, that will be a major season for all of the new names and faces in Tuscaloosa, but also for the future of the program. That’s because visit season follows spring ball, and Alabama will have the first at bat when it comes to hitting a home run of a signing.

Alabama first up in official visit tour of 5-star IOL Maxwell Hiller

The 5-star from Pennsylvania has official visits scheduled with Florida, Tennessee, and Alabama, with the Crimson Tide up first from May 29-31 in Tuscaloosa. The transfer portal was a sneak peek for Alabama’s future along the offensive line, not only this season but beyond.

Ty Haywood and Kaden Strayhorn were two major additions that will be in Tuscaloosa for years to come, and the same can be said for Michael Carroll. If, as soon as 2027, you could insert Hiller into that mix, I don’t think it would be a stretch to say that Alabama has the best offensive line in the nation come this time next year.

That’s how big of a recruitment and potential commitment this is for Alabama. Two things that Kalen DeBoer’s teams of the past have always shown are strong quarterback play and sturdy protection from the offensive line.

The missing factor, and honestly, the biggest piece of the puzzle, will be finding the running element of the offense. If Alabama can get back on track in that regard, the Crimson Tide could be a wagon yet again.
