Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard has announced that he will return for his senior season.

Bernard, who joined the team from Washington last year, shared his decision on Instagram Wednesday. During the 2024-25 season, he recorded 794 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His return strengthens Alabama's already impressive wide receiver lineup, which includes Ryan Williams, Miami transfer Isaiah Horton, and promising young players ready to take on bigger roles.

Over three seasons, Bernard has amassed 91 receptions for 1,341 yards and six touchdowns. The Crimson Tide will kick off the 2025-26 season against Florida State on August 30.

In an interview with ESPN, Bernard mentioned that he contemplated entering the NFL draft for a week but ultimately chose to come back. The prospect of graduating and faith in the team's development at Alabama influenced his decision.

"I believe Coach DeBoer is building something special here, and this program is once again on the brink of bringing another championship home," Bernard wrote. "Because of that, and after much thought, time and consideration with my family, I'm excited to announce that I will be returning to Alabama for my final college season. I look forward to playing in front of the Tuscaloosa crowd again and competing for a championship in 2025!"

Following Kalen DeBoer's first season in Tuscaloosa, which concluded with a disappointing 19-13 defeat to Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl, Alabama has undergone significant changes in its football roster.

One key change is at the quarterback position, as Jalen Milroe has opted to forgo his final year of eligibility and declare for the 2025 NFL draft.

Standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 209 pounds, Bernard hails from Liberty High School in Las Vegas, NV. He was a four-star recruit in the 2022 class, ranked as the 38th-best wide receiver and the 5th-best from Nevada.

Bernard began his college career at Michigan State, where he played in all 12 games during his freshman year. After his first season, he transferred to Washington, reuniting with DeBoer, and then followed his coach to Alabama after a year with the Huskies.
