The Iron Bowl hardly disappoints and this year’s matchup between Alabama and Auburn shouldn’t either. Players on Auburn’s side of things have been loud this week heading up to the game, so things are sure to be interesting at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday.
Just yesterday, Alabama wideout Ryan Williams was sort of called out by Auburn’s Demarcus Riddick. Now, a star freshman for Auburn has made a major statement about what the Tigers plan to do.
When asked about his plans going into the game against Alabama, Cam Coleman had this to say:
“Really a revenge tour. We’re going in their place and we’re really just going to go into their crib and just take over and have fun while we’re doing it. This is going to be some of the last memories we make with each other so let’s go make it a memorable game.”
The Tigers are coming off an impressive overtime win over No. 15 Texas A&M by a score of 43-41. It was Coleman’s second straight 100-yard game, as he totaled seven catches, 128 receiving yards, and two touchdowns against the Aggies.
Coleman has been a legit weapon right from the rip at Auburn. The talented wideout has 520 yards and seven touchdowns in 10 games. Coleman has really come on in the last two games.
Alabama is much more prone to giving up the run than giving up the pass. Bama is giving up 182 passing yards a game, which is good for a top-50 pass defense. They rank outside the top 100 for their run defense.
Alabama has yet to lose at home this season with all three of their losses coming on the road. Last week was an ugly performance for Alabama, and it resulted in a 24-3 loss to Oklahoma.
The Crimson Tide still have College Football Playoff hopes alive but a loss would be a death sentence to their chances. Last season, Alabama won a close game that ended with the Crimson Tide on top 27-24. Expect things to be that close again this season and Auburn has already shown they have some extra motivation to build off their big win over the Aggies.
