The Alabama Crimson Tide could be on the verge of making another big transfer addition.

Alabama has added 15 transfer commits so far this offseason, including five offensive linemen.

On3’s Pete Nakos hinted on Wednesday that a sixth transfer offensive lineman could be heading to Tuscaloosa.

Alabama is the early school to watch for a Mississippi State transfer

Nakos noted on Wednesday that Alabama is the early school to watch for Mississippi State Bulldogs transfer offensive lineman Jayvin James, who started his career at Akron.

“Sources tell On3 that Alabama is the early school to watch to land the Mississippi State offensive tackle,” wrote Nakos. “The 6-foot-5, 320-pound offensive lineman was a redshirt sophomore this season and is a former Akron transfer.”

James is a former three-star recruit from Dearfield Beach, FL. He was rated by 247Sports as the No. 161 offensive tackle in the 2023 recruiting class.

The Florida native would bring plenty of SEC experience to Alabama if he ends up landing with the Crimson Tide, as James started 12 games for Mississippi State in 2025, including nine at left tackle, while allowing just three sacks over 856 snaps.

The former three-star recruit briefly transferred to Maryland last spring before landing at Mississippi State for the 2025 season. James has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
