National college football analyst predicts the final score of Rose Bowl matchup between Alabama and Indiana
The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Indiana Hoosiers will meet in round two of the College Football Playoff.
The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Indiana Hoosiers will meet on New Year’s Day in the Rose Bowl, which serves as a College Football Playoff quarterfinal game this season.
Indiana, which is the No. 1 overall seed in the playoff, received a bye in the first round.
Alabama, meanwhile, took down the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman to earn its spot in the quarterfinals.
National college football analyst predicts the final score of Alabama vs Indiana
On3’s JD PicKell gave his take on Tuesday on the Alabama vs Indiana matchup and he has the Hoosiers remaining undefeated.
“My pick in this game is very much so geared toward what I don’t feel good about projecting,” said PicKell. “I don’t feel good about projecting Alabama to turn (Indiana QB) Fernando Mendoza over — not just once, but probably multiple times — if [Alabama] is going to win the game. Mendoza has a total of zero multi interception games this season. Zero. So it would be a first for you, Bama.
“The physicality of Alabama up front — I don’t think you learn how to stop the run and run the football in January, unfortunately. Maybe you can find a way to do it in different points in the year, but not in January. So for all those reasons, Alabama has earned their way in, but Indiana will earn their way forward. The Hoosiers win in the Rose Bowl with the backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains and that beautiful sunset. Final score — Hoosiers win 31-20.”
Alabama is playing with a chip on their shoulder right now, so this prediction will only serve as motivation for the Crimson Tide.
Of course, Indiana plays with a chip on it shoulder, too.
Suffice it to say, it should be a fun on Jan. 1 at 4:00 PM ET when these two teams get together in Pasadena.
