A coveted 2027 four-star recruit recently received an offer from the Alabama Crimson Tide and judging by his response, he's fired up about the chance to play in Tuscaloosa.
Alabama offered 2027 four-star running back Quinterrius Gipson, 5-foot-11/200 lbs from Marietta, GA, late last week.
Gipson is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 97 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.
The Georgia native told Rivals.com that receiving the offer from Alabama was "like a dream come true".
According to Rivals.com national recruiting director Adam Gorney, Alabama will "definitely be one of the top programs as Gipson’s recruitment continues".
Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee, and Texas A&M are also in the mix for the talented running back (Vanderbilt and Wisconsin both offered Gipson last week as well).
On Sunday, 247Sports' Benjamin Wolk noted that Georgia head coach Kirby Smart stopped by Kell High School in Marietta last week to visit Gipson.
Wolk also pointed out that Gipson "is already one of the most recruited players at his position in the 2027 class".
It sounds like this is shaping up to be an intense recruiting battle. And since Gipson is a 2027 prospect, this is a battle that won't be over anytime soon.
We should gain some clarity on where Alabama stands later this summer.
The Crimson Tide currently have two players committed to their 2027 recruiting class, including four-star edge rusher Jabarrius Garror and currently unrated wide receiver Alexander Ward.
Ward is also from Marietta, though he attends a different high school than Gipson.
Alabama currently has just one commit to its 2026 recruiting class — four-star athlete Zyan Gibson. I'd expect to see the recruiting dam break open for the Crimson Tide in the coming weeks/months.
