The Alabama Crimson Tide has yet to make a splash addition in the transfer portal. It has been mostly departures for the Tide, and at a couple of critical positions. One of those positions was RT Wilkin Formby, which, along with the likely NFL Draft declaration of Kadyn Proctor, means that Alabama will have a new starting tackle duo for 2026.

The big question for Alabama (alongside the looming decision for Ty Simpson) is if they could return a standout freshman from 2025. The answer is yes.

Alabama OL Michael Carroll re-signs with Alabama

“Next year I want to be a first-team All-American, first-team All-SEC type of guy, and bring all my brothers along with me. I’m excited for next year,” said Carroll about his return to Alabama.

The Crimson Tide’s offensive line was a major disappointment in 2025 despite having so many returning players.

The pass protection was notable, but Alabama struggled to run the football, finishing nearly dead last in rushing yards per game in the SEC last season. That simply isn’t the brand of Alabama football that we are accustomed to seeing, and it must change in 2025.

Keeping Caroll in Crimson will go a long way in ensuring that.
