On the heels of earning a visit from elite linebacker prospect Xavier Griffin, the Alabama Crimson Tide got word they'll also host top pass-rusher Anthony "Tank" Jones this summer. The fellow five-star recruit in the 2026 class dropped his five summer visits, which start this weekend in Auburn.

Jones, 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds from Mobile, Alabama, has been heavily pursued by top programs with deep pockets. He's considered a top-two prospect in state, which is why Auburn and Alabama have been prepared to go to war for Jones.

It's not surprising Jones once praised his long-standing relationship with Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack, or why he called outside linebackers coach Christian Robinson "relentless" with his approach. The Crimson Tide badly want Jones.

Jones is giving the Tide the last crack at making a strong impression before the dead period begins. Alabama follows Auburn, Miami, Texas A&M, and Oregon. It would be quite surprising if Jones leaves the state for college.

Of course, with 35 offers and rich collectives at Texas A&M, Miami, and Oregon involved, anything is possible. Their deep pockets are likely the main reasons they're getting any sort of consideration.

That could be a tough challenge for DeBoer and his staff to overcome, but it's uncommong for a recruit to praise a group so much and not pick them. We'll be tracking how the next six weeks of his recruitment develop.
