Alabama’s win over Missouri comes with a concerning loss after a scary-looking hit to Crimson Tide playmaker
A big win comes with some concern.
It was a close one in Columbia, but the Alabama Crimson Tide secured one of the biggest wins of the Kalen DeBoer era. Highlighted by another Heisman-worthy performance from Ty Simpson, it feels safe to say that the best quarterback in the country resides in Tuscaloosa.
But before Alabama put Missouri away on its own turf, there was a concerning injury to one of the best players on its offense. RB Jam Miller, who already missed the early portion of the season, went down with a head injury that immediately sent him to the locker room with plenty of game left.

There was some discussion about a targeting call on the hit, but after a thorough review, the officiating crew said that the Missouri defender led with his shoulder, opposed to his helmet. Miller was seen walking off the field with assistance, but he headed straight for the locker room.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only loss. Earlier in the game, there was a very similar, but even scarier, hit to freshman WR Derek Meadows, which was ruled targeting and led to the ejection of Missouri safety Marvin Banks Jr.
A physical game that went down to the wire, how Miller progresses throughout the week will be crucial to previewing next week’s game. If you check the calendar, you will see that it’s the third Saturday in October.
That means the Tennessee Volunteers are coming to town. The Vols took the Georgia Bulldogs down to the wire, and Tennessee quarterback Joey Aguilar has been a quiet upgrade for the orange and white. Good thing Alabama has the Heisman frontrunner calling the signals, and that will be especially important if Miller can’t go.
