Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Adam Gorney predicted this week that the Alabama Crimson Tide will land a 2026 four-star recruit over the Auburn Tigers.

Gorney has Alabama landing 2026 four-star running back Ezavier Crowell over Auburn (and others).

From Rivals.com: A weekend visit to Auburn where Crowell spent good amount of time with coach Hugh Freeze and position coach Derrick Nix could change things, especially since the coaches there talked about Auburn being RBU and how they want to keep local kids in-state.

But Alabama has the edge in Crowell’s recruitment and it might be tough to overcome to land the Jackson, Ala., standout who recently reclassified to the 2026 class.

Crowell, who had 1,964 yards and 31 touchdowns this season, was at the Iron Bowl this season – a two-touchdown win for the Crimson Tide – and he’s expected back in Tuscaloosa this weekend for junior day. That could be one of the final touches in his decision making process.

Prediction: Alabama

Crowell, 5-foot-11/205 lbs from Jackson, AL, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 11 running back in the nation and the No. 9 player in the state of Alabama. He's also rated as the No. 117 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

The talented running back was originally part of the 2027 recruiting class, but he recently reclassified to become a member of the 2026 recruiting class (Crowell was previously rated as the No. 1 running back in the 2027 recruiting class).

Ohio State, Penn State, and Texas are some of the other programs that are also in the mix for Crowell.

Crowell told 247Sports earlier this month that he's in "no rush" to announce his commitment.
