On Saturday, the Arkansas Razorbacks walked out of War Memorial Stadium with a win against the Arkansas State Redwolves. That game included one of the best plays of the week, and the player who made it didn’t even have the ball.

Offensive lineman Cory Robinson got the chance to showcase what he can do up the field as a lead blocker. On a play that saw quarterback Taylen Green pitch the ball to running back Mike Washington, Robinson got upfield and made one of the best pancake blocks you will see, and honestly, one of the best plays in football this week.

Because of that block, Washington had a free path to a 53-yard touchdown run.

Arkansas Razorbacks’ run game can be elite in 2025

So far, the Arkansas Razorbacks look to have one of the best run games in the SEC. Now, granted, they have played Alabama A&M and Arkansas State. Regardless, Washington and Green are two of he top-five rushers in the conference through two games. They also have some great depth at the running back spots, too, as behind Washington are Braylen Russell and then Rodney Hill.

With Green’s ability to extend plays but also to become a runner and home run hitter on QB-designed runs, the Hogs can have as good a rushing offense in the SEC as anyone. But, as we know, there are still so many things that can derail a run game throughout the season, like injuries, playcalling, and the offensive line going through spells.

Arkansas is fourth in the country in total yards per game with 591, and 12th in rushing yards per game with 257. After two games, Washington has 195 total rush yards on 18 carries, which comes out to 10.8 yards per carry, while Green has 192 yards on 18 carries at 10.7 yards per carry. Both of them have one rushing touchdown. Those two have been the engine of the run game, and will continue to be as the season progresses.

It’s not just the fact that they are running the ball well, though. It’s also that they are creating big plays with the run, which in turn is creating big plays in the pass game, too.

Arkansas is third in the country in explosive plays, or plays of at least 20+ yards, just behind the Ole Miss Rebels, whom they play in Week 3. The Razorbacks have a good thing going right now, and the offensive line is a huge reason why. They continue to block their tails off in the run and pass game.
