Lincoln Riley and USC seemed more comfortable with where they stood with 5-star QB Julian "Ju Ju" Lewis just a few weeks ago. However, on the heels of his official visit to Auburn, the 5-star 2025 QB recruit could be on the verge of flipping his commitment. Will he stay with USC, or does he have eyes on Colorado and Auburn?

Auburn Named as Top Flip Candidate for Julian Lewis

Lewis has seen a lot of interest from Deion Sanders and Colorado, but On3's Steve Wiltfong reported that it's Auburn that is making the biggest push for the Georgia native. We explored this possibility a month ago, and there is clear momentum for Lewis to flip to Auburn now.

The No. 2 QB in the 2025 class has praised the roster Hugh Freeze has built at Auburn, and the third-ranked player from Georgia would be joining an offense that will fully maximize his potential.

“Auburn — the competition just in terms of overall team depth,” Lewis said of the Tigers. “Just the collective group of athletes. Their overall team is athletically probably one of the best ones in the country, in terms of the Cam Colemans and those types of guys in the world. They’re up there.”

What might be an underrated factor here is that Lewis wants to team up with other elite prospects. A summer commitment to Auburn would give him over five months to build out the rest of the class and create a big legacy as Alabama is in transition.

Julian Lewis Visits Colorado a Third Time

Lewis is gearing up for his third trip to Colorado within the last eight months. Coach Prime and the Buffaloes' coaching staff must convince the Georgia native to switch his allegiance from USC. Additionally, they must contend with the rigorous recruitment efforts of other colleges, notably Auburn, which has recently gone to great lengths to make an indelible impression on him over the weekend.

This Carrollton talent has already showcased his interest in CU by sharing a hype video about the university last month and has announced his plans to visit the campus beginning June 21. He is connected through his QB coach, Darrell Colbert, to Shedeur Sanders, with whom he has established a rapport.

A significant point to consider is Coach Prime's announced departure from Boulder post the 2024 season. If Lewis decides to commit to CU, turning his back on USC, it could be pivotal in strengthening CU's recruiting class for 2025.
