Ashton Alston, a four-star cornerback from Anderson High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, is scheduling multiple unofficial visits this fall to explore his options among top college football programs. The LSU Tigers were one of those teams, giving head coach Brian Kelly a big win as they look to poach the playmaker from the hometown defending national champs.

Ranked among the top-15 cornerbacks in the 2027 recruiting cycle, the 5-foot-11, 175-pound defensive back has attracted attention from elite programs, securing offers from Ohio State, West Virginia, Notre Dame, Alabama, and Oregon, among others.

This offseason, Alston visited several schools, including a trip to LSU in May, where secondary coach Corey Raymond hosted him. He also made stops at Notre Dame and West Virginia, among other programs.

As his junior season approaches, Alston has lined up fall visits to LSU, Ohio State, Missouri, and Penn State, according to 247Sports. The Buckeyes are intensifying their efforts and emerging as a frontrunner in his recruitment despite On3 giving Tennessee the highest chances in their RPM odds.

Despite being early in his junior year, Alston is already evaluating key contenders, with LSU leaving a strong impression after his spring visit. Coach Raymond and the Tigers’ staff will have another opportunity to host Alston for a game day experience this fall.

In his 2024 sophomore season, Alston recorded 46 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 10 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, and 3 interceptions, solidifying his status as a rising star. With his junior campaign in 2025 on the horizon, Alston remains a top target for numerous college programs closely monitoring the Ohio native’s recruitment journey.
