The 2024 college football season was one of the most memorable in program history for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Except for that one game.
That one game, of course, was the Buckeyes' loss in the regular-season finale to the Michigan Wolverines.
Michigan wasn't very good last season, but they managed to knock off Ohio State in Columbus to end the regular season.
The Buckeyes had to deal with a significant amount of negativity due to that loss, with some folks even suggesting that head coach Ryan Day should be fired in the event of a loss to the Tennessee Vols in the first round of the College Football Playoff (Ohio State blew out Tennessee 42-17 in the playoff).
Ohio State, however, ended up cruising through the playoff on their way to winning the national championship against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Oddly enough, Buckeyes running back Quinshon Judkins is now teammates with several players that he faced last last season, including a former Michigan standout.
Judkins was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Browns selected Michigan defensive lineman Mason Graham with their first round pick (No. 5 overall).
Cleveland also selected Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel and Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson in the 2025 NFL Draft (Gabriel and the Ducks beat Ohio State in the regular season before losing to the Buckeyes in the playoff).
Judkins was asked by Sports Illustrated this week if he talks any trash to any of his new teammates that he beat in the playoff last season.
The former Ohio State standout admitted that he does, before noting that there's some "animosity" with Graham.
"Oh, yeah. All the time," said Judkins. I try not to be too harsh, but I mean sometimes Dillon brings up how they beat us the first time and I’ll just do this to him [flash four fingers] and he’ll shut up. Even Mason Graham, a lot of us have a little team chemistry, but also, at the same time, there’s a little animosity because we just played each other not too long ago. We laugh about the moments at particular points in these games that we played against each other, how we were a part of each other’s journeys, and where we ended up now. So it’s pretty special."
Judkins and Graham are both elite players, and they'll undoubtedly be huge fans of each other in Cleveland. But the Ohio State/Michigan rivalry runs deep. And I'm sure there will be plenty of trash talk between Judkins and Graham each time the Buckeyes and Wolverines face off against each other.
