Clemson must first beat Virginia Tech in Week 11, but they have other rooting interests to keep an eye on. Clemson fans need to know who to root for and against entering college football's Week 11 action.

Here are the top few games from this weekend that Clemson fans must watch as the Tigers look to push their way into the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff field.

No. 4 Miami vs. Georgia Tech

Rooting Interest: Georgia Tech

The only way Clemson can get into the conference title game is for one or both of Miami or SMU to lose. With SMU off this week, we focus on Miami. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have been feisty this year at 5-4 and pulling off a few quality wins, but quarterback Haynes King's injury has left them vulnerable with two-straight losses.

Miami should comfortably win this week, but we're all waiting for Mario Cristobal to have the moment he has every season. This is ripe for an early-slate upset, as the Hurricanes are on the road. Clemson would hope to win a head-to-head comparison with Miami of common-foe win percentages since these two have not played this season.

Virginia vs. No. 18 Pittsburgh

Rooting Interest: Pittsburgh

Just like with Miami, the Tigers will need to be selfish with another ACC matchup. The Pittsburgh Panthers are lurking alongside Clemson as a one-loss ACC team but they do face off next weekend. It'd be nice for that game to not be quite as charged after a Pitt loss this week, but that's actually not what Clemson needs.

Clemson needs as many top wins as they can get, so an 8-1 Pitt team at home will impress voters more than anything. Even if Clemson wins the ACC and lock in a top-four seed, the difference in sitting third or fourth might be substantial.

Florida State vs. No. 10 Notre Dame

Rooting Interest: Florida State

The flip side of the coin of the last matchup is that Notre Dame is lurking as an independent. As is, they'll be in the Playoff. One more loss would knock them out and help Clemson creep into the picture as at least the second ACC team with some help.

Of course, the odds of the Seminoles being up for this challenge seems unlikely. The Irish are playing well, whereas Florida State has embarrassed itself over and over. This isn't the biggest longshot by the odds, but it is in our hearts.
