The NFL season is wrapping up and we will soon see a frenzy of moves with teams moving on from coaches and front office members. Following that, we will then see a bunch of interviews and hiring.

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders recently wrapped up his year with a postseason loss to BYU in Shedeur Sanders’ final game in college. Now, Sanders is backing one person who he believes is ready to be a general manager in the NFL.

Sanders thinks highly of ESPN analyst Louis Riddick, who has interviewed for jobs in the NFL, including the New York Jets open position at general manager recently.

“@NFL please understand what I’m saying 1st & foremost. @LRiddickESPN is a darn GM presently excelling at calling games and giving @espn brilliant content when he’s in studio. Don’t say I didn’t tell u. Just keeping it (100 emoji) with u as usual. #CoachPrime” – Sanders posted on X

Riddick spent time as an NFL scout before joining ESPN as an analyst. In the past, he has interviewed for jobs with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans, and Detroit Lions. The 55-year-old former NFL player is gaining a lot of popularity as a name for some of the current open jobs.

Sanders coming out and saying this about Riddick at the same time that Shedeur embarks on the NFL draft process and soon to be his career. There are folks who worry about Deion’s want for his son to stay away from certain teams. If you are a team that wants to bring in Shedeur with little issue, maybe just bring in Riddick.

Sanders is not the first person with a platform to back Riddick as a candidate for a job in the NFL. Riddick is a good football mind with an obvious eye for talent. It appears to be trending toward Riddick finally getting his chance as a decision football decision-maker.
