One of the most anticipated games in week one of the college football season was seeing Deion Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes host North Dakota State on Thursday night. The Bison have a long history of beating FBS opponents, having won six of their last seven matchups, including a 23-21 win over Iowa that nearly landed NDSU ranked in the AP poll.
They weren't able to take down the Buffaloes on Thursday night, as Colorado hung on for a 31-26 victory. The game itself was a spectacle for the superstars of the Buffaloes, specifically superstar cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter who continuously made plays on Thursday.
Colorado CB/WR Travis Hunter impresses multiple NFL players
Hunter wasn't just on the field as a cornerback, he was a top-flight wide receiver as well. Hunter tied for the team lead with seven catches for 132 yards and a game-high three touchdowns and he did so in impressive fashion.
One of his touchdowns was a fade-stop route from quarterback Shedeur Sanders where the defender was mugging him. He caught the ball outside of the defenders frame while being pushed down and secured it for a touchdown.
The only words to describe it were incredible, impressive and what in the world did I just watch? He was so good on Thursday night that he drew the attention of NFL players, and Hunter will likely be playing with them on Sundays next year. They took the time to shout out Hunter's impressive performance.
If you can impress players across the league like that, you just might be the next big thing.
