One of the final five star dominoes to fall in the 2025 recruiting class is set to take place this week. Elite five star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench from Jacksonville, Florida is set to commit on Friday just as Week 1 of college football action kicks off.

This unreal wide receiver talent who has dominated high school, flag football, and top tier recruiting circuit events for years has narrowed his college football destination search to four schools. It's come down to LSU, Miami, Tennessee, or Texas as the final four in the mix to be the lucky school that lands Ffrench.

Ffrench ended up with nearly 40 FBS scholarship offers thanks to his versatility, explosiveness, and multi-year track record of verified five star production and dominance on the field. But what makes him so special? And where will he actually land?

Jaime Ffrench, Five Star Wide Receiver

Jaime Ffrench debuted on all the major recruiting services' rankings boards as a five star wide receiver over two years ago now. Although he didn't produce immensely as a freshman in high school he had already spent years as a recruiting camp circuit and flag football kid. His name had been buzzing as an unreal wide receiver who could beat anybody one-on-one before he ever became a full-time starter at his own high school.

But when he started dominating the best competition in Florida in the fall, then taking his talents and doing the same in spring flag football leagues and tournaments all over the country he quickly rose as high as the number two wide receiver in the nation (according to ESPN's rankings).

He simply never stopped performing at an elite level, wherever he played. Last fall in his 2023 high school season he tallied over 1200 receiving yards and double-digit scores through the air. Then this spring he was the talk of multiple recruiting events and one of the most impressive wide receivers at the OT7 7-on-7 championships with the storied South Florida Express program.

He's a crisp route runner with easy separation skills who can win with late hands even when he can't completely burn defenders too. Wherever French lands it's highly likely the technical side of his game mixed with his track speed and physicality (likely driven via his basketball background) will be too much to keep him off the field for long as a near immediate starter.

Where will Jaime Ffrench land?

There has been a mixed bag of chatter as to which school is truly in the lead for his services for months now following his decommitment from Alabama as it seems Ffrench's online post activity and comments shift quite a bit from school to school, but many believe that Texas is in the lead.

Ffrench took visits to LSU, Miami, Tennessee, and finished up at Texas all within the span of a month this summer, and some experts believed the Tennessee Vols were in the lead at the conclusion of that run. Ffrench took two other visits with the Vols in the spring for some practices and another big team event, then reportedly loved his visit in June. But clearly LSU, Miami, and Texas weren't done.

Both LSU and Miami had him back on campus in late July, hoping to seal the deal, but since those visits there hasn't been a ton of buzz about either one landing him. They're both obviously still in the mix, but feel like unlikely options.

In the end it's likely Texas. Yes, Tennessee's wide open offense that loves to create easy mismatches for their receivers has been a talking point throughout the last several months, but conflicting reports have them on the verge of being out of the running. Meanwhile, Texas has some personal ties for Ffrench that might seal the deal.

Fellow five star Kaliq Lockett who just committed to Texas earlier this month has been hinting at playing with his good friend Jaime Ffrench for months now dating back to On3's big NIL event this spring. Then they took their official visit together in June. And then, not only that, but Ffrench also seemed to form quite a connection with Texas' 2025 QB commit KJ Lacey as well. Unless something happens last minute to surprise with Tennessee, Ffrench is probably going to be a Texas Longhorn.
