The Florida Gators haven't been getting a ton of good news as of late going into fall camp. Monday saw the report of starting quarterback DJ Lagway that he was dealing with a calf injury. Luckily for the Gators, they also got some good news.

Starting cornerback Dijon Johnson, who was arrested in early May, saw all four of his charges dropped on Monday, allowing him to enter fall camp without a distraction looming over him.

Johnson's attorney spoke after the news came out and praised the state attorney's office.

“The State Attorney’s Office filed paperwork confirming that they will take no further action regarding this incident,” Johnson’s attorney, Tim Taylor, said. “We have worked closely with prosecutors on this for the past few months and are pleased with their diligence and professionalism. Dijon and his family are happy to have this matter behind them. Dijon is focused on his academic and football commitments and is excited for the start of the football season.”

This is huge for the Gators, as Johnson is set to be a starter for Ron Roberts' defense this season after playing 550 snaps on defense last season. He can, as his attorney stated, put his sole focus on both school and football. That can make all the difference when it comes to success.
