The Florida Gators are finally ready for the 2025 season, and they’re ready to rock and roll with their first matchup against Long Island University.

We saw a few games happen during week zero this past weekend, headlined by Farmageddon with Iowa State beating Kansas State 24-21 in Dublin, Ireland. As great as week zero was, Week 1 will not only be more exciting, but tell us all we need to know about where teams are to start the year.

The biggest piece of information that we want to learn about the Gators is concerning starting quarterback DJ Lagway. He has been nursing multiple injuries throughout the offseason, but participated in 11-on-11s last week, which was a positive step.

The first game isn’t likely to be a difficult battle since they’re playing an FCS opponent, but how the Gators handle business will give the fanbase the signal to either believe in the team or to be worried about the future.
