It's not from a lack of effort that the Gators have such a small class right now. They have already seen multiple players decommit from the 2026 class, including multiple defensive backs, thanks to the change from Will Harris to Vinnie Sunseri as secondary coach.

Florida Gators in top 8 for four-star cornerback Danny Odem

The Gators continue to be active for players in the 2026 recruiting class with multiple visits lined up, including one for this weekend, May 16th, in four-star edge rusher Luke Wafle

With official visits being scheduled more and more often, the Gators are finding themselves on a lot of lists for top prospects, including being added to another one, as four-star cornerback Danny Odem named his top eight schools with the Gators included.

Out of Orlando, Florida, Odem is a four-star recruit per On3 Sports and the 30th-ranked cornerback in the nation. He's being heavily recruited across the board, but the Gators being just 95 miles away could give them an advantage, with only one school in the state landing in his top eight, Miami (FL).

When it comes to visits, the Gators have been very active. They have hosted Odem on two separate occasions on unofficial visits, including the latest being March 28th. Napier and his staff will also host Odem on an official visit on June 13th. That visit will be the third of his four current scheduled official visits, with only Nebraska coming after the Gators on June 20th.

Bringing Odem in and getting him to commit would be huge for the Gators, especially at defensive back, where they have already lost multiple recruits.
