Florida Gators lock in visit during massive recruiting weekend with a unique advantage
Billy Napier has the chance to get him locked in.
The Florida Gators have locked in a crucial recruiting visit with five-star 2027 quarterback Elijah Haven for their game against the Texas Longhorns. It’s one of six visits on campus this season for Haven.
- September 13th: LSU Tigers
- September 27th: Penn State Nittany Lions
- October 4th: Florida Gators
- October 18th: Alabama Crimson Tide
- November 15th: Georgia Bulldogs
- November 29th: Auburn Tigers
Elijah Haven set to visit Florida Gators
This is a big step forward for the Gators and head coach Billy Napier. They currently have 19 commitments for the 2026 recruiting class, and one for the class of 2027. Right now, the future at the quarterback position is far from certain. DJ Lagway is likely to leave for the NFL after the 2026 season, as he’s a very likely top-five selection at this point.
Earlier this year, the Gators got two expert predictions to land Haven from Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong and Sam Spiegelman, along with Corey Bender and Keith Niebuhr from Gators Online. He currently sits wiht a 97.8% chance to land with the Gators when he chooses to commit. Remember, Lagway committed in December, one full year before he could sign his letter of intent.
The interesting thing about Haven’s schedule is who the teams play. The Gators will be at LSU for Haven’s first visit and they are one of three teams he will see twice, joining Alabama and Texas. The really interesting thing here is Haven doens’t have Texas on his schedule at all. Could that be anything worth writing home about?
“Gainesville, from what we can tell, is a great college town,” Elijah’s father Kwame told Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong at the end of July. “The campus is extremely nice. They have what they call the GatorMade program which my wife and I are extremely excited about. The development and exposure for their players off the field, they travel internationally and do those type of things. They help them advance their careers outside of football. Also starting to get really close with coach (Billy) Napier and coach (Ryan) O’Hara and coach (Russ) Callaway. All three have been consistent with outreach and making us feel like a priority.”
The Gators are likely going to make the game against Texas a huge recruiting event, and it could convince Haven to make his commitment official.
