Florida Gators receive multiple expert predictions to land talented recruit who can elevate their offense to another level
Quarterback has been a position of major importance for the Florida Gators, and head coach Jon Sumrall is getting closer to adding another player, this time in four-star recruit Davin Davidson.
Recruiting has been a huge focus for Florida Gators head coach Jon Sumrall. They have hosted multiple big recruiting weekends during spring practice, focusing on adding to the 2027 class. So far, they only have three commitments in the 2027 recruiting class:
- Four-star cornerback Amare Nugent
- Four-star wide receiver Tramond Collins
- Three-star tight end Jackson Ballinger
They are inching forward toward getting their next commitment, and it could come before the spring game on Saturday.
Florida Gators predicted to land four-star QB Davin Davidson
It didn’t take long after four-star quarterback Davin Davidson from Sarasota, Florida, announced his commitment date for there to be expert predictions. Both Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons have officially predicted him to commit to the Gators.
In the last 24 hours, Davidson’s likelihood to commit to Florida has increased from 94.4% all the way to 97.7%. He is the 12th-ranked quarterback and 132nd overall recruit per the Rivals’ Industry Ranking.
Davidson is a fascinating recruit. He is already built like a college quarterback, at 6-6 and 215 pounds. Rivals’ Charles Power wrote a scouting report that highlights what he can grow into.
Davin Davidson is another physically-talented 2027 passer who has seen his profile rise coming out of his junior season, as he helped Sarasota (Fla.) Cardinal Mooney to a state title. Davidson pairs immense size at around 6-foot-6, 215 pounds with a very live arm. Heās more of a fastball thrower right now and will need to continue adding nuance as a passer. The size, arm, and movement skills are very projectable and his physical upside has created a considerable buzz.

Adding Davidson would put him in a quarterback room with Aaron Philo, Tramell Jones Jr., and Will Griffin, which will give Sumrall and offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner a lot to work with.
