The first game was a cakewalk for the Florida Gators. They beat the Long Island Sharks in the season opener by a score of 55-0. Not only did the Gators hold the Sharks to 89 yards of total offense, but they didn’t commit a single penalty.

Where things got interesting was seeing the offense operate. There were a lot of questions about how DJ Lagway would look after dealing with multiple injuries throughout the offseason, and he answered them quickly. His movement skills were excellent across the board, and the arm talent continues to be evident.

They are set to host South Florida, which smoked Boise State in its opener on Thursday. Quarterback Byrum Brown took a major step forward, and he looks like he could be the real deal. Will the Gators be able to stop him? It will be the biggest storyline for the Gators.
