The Florida Gators are in dire straits heading into their Week 3 matchup against the LSU Tigers after losing a tough game to the South Florida Bulls by a score of 18-16. It was a game that the Gators needed to win going into SEC play, as they currently have the toughest schedule in the nation.
Head coach Billy Napier is under severe fire after losing to the Bulls, a team they should have beaten relatively easily. They were 17.5 point favorites, but major issues came around, including defensive tackle Brendan Bett sptting on a Bulls player and getting ejected. It’s the second time that has happened during Napier’s regime, and the second one occurred two days after Jalen Carter of the Philadelphia Eagles got ejected before the first offensive snap for doing the same thing.
The Gators are going to need to beat the Tigers to stay on a potential path to the College Football Playoff, and a loss could be devastating.
