Florida Gators head coach Jon Sumrall has been incredibly active in the transfer portal, and that continued on Monday afternoon when they landed wide receiver Bailey Stockton. The Georgia Tech product played for offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner the last two seasons.

Florida Gators land commitment from Georgia Tech WR Bailey Stockton

This is a nice addition for the Gators. They were reportedly targeting Eric Singleton Jr., who had played for Faulkner at Georgia Tech in 2023 and 2024. He transferred to the Auburn Tigers for the 2025 season and was rumored to head to Gainesville in the transfer portal. Instead of entering the transfer portal, Singleton chose to enter the NFL Draft.

With him off the board, they went back to Atlanta and plucked the redshirt sophomore. He’s played 26 games for the Yellow Jackets across his three seasons with the program, and played somewhat sparingly with just 38 catches for 439 yards and a touchdown.

What Singleton can provide for the Gators is relatively simple: depth and punt return utility. He has 11 punt returns across the last two seasons for 115 yards. He could factor into the receiver room this upcoming season, especially in the slot, where his wide receivers coach from last season, Trent McKnight, is coaching for the Gators.

Bailey Stockton could mean Cam Coleman is officially out

It’s hard to say that adding a depth player at a position would take you out of adding an elite one, but it does pair with the latest intel on Auburn’s Cam Coleman. On3 Sports’ Pete Nakos is reporting that his recruitment is focusing mainly on schools in the state of Texas.

“Sources tell On3 that Cam Coleman is currently on the Texas A&M campus and wrapping up his visits. More trips are scheduled to Texas Tech and USC. There is confidence in multiple camps that they can offer the best opportunity for Coleman. Money is not going to be the deciding factor in this recruitment, even though sources have said his deal could be in the $2 million range.”

There was some steam that Coleman could follow his wide receivers coach, Marcus Davis, to Gainesville, but that seems to be in the past. Never say never with the world of college football, but it’s highly unlikely.
