One of the major themes with the 2025 Florida Gators was the injury bug. At one point, over 25% of their scholarship players were on the injury report.

Of all their injuries in 2025, one of the biggest was to wide receiver Dallas Wilson. After dominating the spring game with 10 receptions for 195 yards and two touchdowns, he played in just four games. In his debut, Wilson caught six passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns against the Texas Longhorns, dominating their defense with ease.

Dallas Wilson could play this weekend if there was a game

Wilson has been missing spring practice due to a foot injury, but the boot finally came off. Head coach Jon Sumrall was honest about his injury, including potentially playing if there was a game this weekend.

“[His] boots off. Running program will start this week,” said Sumrall. “What does that mean for his availability for spring? I’d have to really lean on Paul Silvestri, that gang down there that does a great job. Like I said at the start of spring with him, if we had a game, he’d be practicing right now. Out of an abundance of caution for him, and I want to see him play football games in the season, we’re gonna do everything we can to make sure we get him fully right before, like, Hey, I’m not rushing him. I got a pretty good pulse of what kind of player he can be. Does he need to practice reps? Yes. Does he need to get healthy more? Yes. So I want to be smart, tough, not dumb, tough there.”

Wilson is going to be important for the Gators this year, as that X-receiver spot will be a factor this season with Buster Faulkner at the helm. With Vernell Brown III and Eric Singleton Jr. also in the room, there is a real chance this group does end up being one of the best in the country.
