The NFL Scouting Combine is one of the premiere events on the NFL calendar each year. Players will start arriving in Indianapolis in a staggered fashion with position drills happening from February 27th-March 2nd.
- Thursday, February 27th: Defensive line and linebackers
- Friday, February 28th: Defensive backs and tight ends
- Saturday, March 1st: Running backs, quarterbacks, and wide receivers
- Sunday, March 2nd: Offensive linemen
The Gators have a chance to have multiple players selected in April's NFL Draft, including multiple former Gators:
- Ole Miss EDGE Princeley Umanmielen
- Georgia RB Trevor Etienne
When you take a look at the Gators that are entering the NFL Draft, there are some that have a chance to go in the top 100. Umanmielen and Etienne sit at the top of that list, but there are a couple of current Gators who could shake things up.
Jackson, James, and Crenshaw-Dickson could all end up being taken in the top 100. Jackson and James were huge factors in the Gators turning things around on the defensive side of the football. Both players also were excellent in Mobile, Alabama during Reese's Senior Bowl week. Crenshaw-Dickson is a solid offensive lineman who could be selected higher than some might think in a unique offensive line class.
The entire football world will have its eyes on Indianapolis for the scouting combine that week, and so will Gainesville.
