It's not a big deal that Lagway isn't throwing considering what we now know about his injury. It is nice to see him dressed and on the field at all. What the spring game does have is the important return of another player who will benefit Lagway.

Eugene Wilson III returning during spring game

The wide receiver position is a very interesting one for the Gators. They lost Elijah Badger and Chimere Dike to the NFL Draft and emerging star junior Eugene Wilson III missed most of the 2024 season with a hip injury that required surgery.

It was great to see Wilson back on the field for the spring game, but he's not all the way there in wearing a non-contact jersey.

Wilson's movements were twitchy and fluid, which is a great sign for the Gators. He projects to play in the slot or at Z to allow the Gators to maximize what Wilson brings to the table.

This is a great sign for the Gators receiving corps, as he was a dominant player as a true freshman, emerging onto the scene.
