Going into the 2025 season, it projects to be the DJ Lagway show for the Florida Gators. The biggest concern is his health, as a pre-existing shoulder injury from high shcool has prevented him from throwing all spring. Luckily, he will begin throwing by the end of the month.

Without Lagway throughout spring practice, redshirt sophomore quarterback Aidan Warner and reshirt senior transfer Harrison Bailey were given the majority of the reps, giving them much-needed experience in case Lagway was unable to play.

Florida Gators place Aidan Warner on scholarship

According to Gators Online's Corey Bender, the Gators have placed Warner on full scholarship.

It's a big deal for Warner, who transferred in from Yale after redshirting his freshman season. He ended up getting into four games during the season, including extensive play against Georgia after Lagway's injury and started the game against Texas.

Those appearances didn't end up going well for Warner, completing just 21-of-50 passes for 228 yards and three interceptions. He did rush for a touchdown against Samford in week two.

Warner looked good in spring practice, arguably separating himself from Bailey to be the backup quarterback.
