Florida Gators get massive transfer portal commit Xavian Lee

After winning the National Championship, the Gators were in a tough position, as they were set to lose their entire starting backcourt led by All-American Walter Clayton Jr.

They made their chase for a second National Title a little easier on Wednesday by securing the commitment of former Princeton guard Xavian Lee.

Lee comes to Florida with two years of eligibility left, which gives head coach Todd Golden some extra flexibility. At Princeton last year, Lee was their best player, scoring 16.9 points per games, while snagging 6.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists. He was also a really good shooter, shooting 36.6% from three-point range and 43.9% from the field.

One interesting element with Lee is that he went to high school with current Gators forward Thomas Hough, which likely contributed to his decision to make a visit to Gainesville in the first place.

On3 Sports has Lee as the number seven guard and 34th overall player in the transfer portal, which is a great coup for the Gators program. They still have a good amount of work to do in the transfer portal, especially at guard. They could also be replacing star forward Alex Condon, who is going through the NBA Draft process.

Things are looking up for the Gators, but the work is far from complete.
