The Florida State Seminoles are actually recruiting very well right now despite having their worst season since the 1970s. They won two games last year and lost to some really bad teams and some schools that they just shouldn't lose to.

Yet, they still seem to have some of the best recruiting momentum they have ever had in the last few years. Right now, it feels like the Seminoles could finish their 2026 class within the top 15, which would be a huge win. On all of the big recruiting sites out there, the Seminoles rank anywhere from 15th to 20th, with On3 having them with the 18th best class as things stand. Of course, it's still early, so, everything could change.

In fact, the Noles are closing in on another four-star prospect to help. They already have five four-stars and two three-stars. There is work to be done, but adding another four-star player who is considered a top 200 player in the country, would be huge.

Now they're in the top 6 of a player that fits what they need and what they want for their 2026 class.

Seminoles land in top 6 for DT Tajh Overton

Tajh Overton is a standout defensive tackle from Owasso High School in Oklahoma, class of 2026. He’s 6’3”, 275 pounds, and brings size, speed, and strength that make him hard to block—skills that could shine in college with some growth.

In his sophomore year, he racked up 64 tackles, 25 for loss, five sacks, and 15 quarterback pressures, holding his own against tough teams like Bixby. He’s the No. 1 player in Oklahoma, a four-star recruit, and ranked around No. 211 nationally by Rivals.

Big college programs like Oklahoma, Tennessee, Auburn, Texas, Miami, and Arkansas are all also after him. Overton wasn’t well-known at first, but his sophomore season put him on the map. With his senior year ahead, he’s set to keep improving and could be a college football star.
